Together they work like a charm, pushing limits of the rider at every session...

Well you understood... I love my gear! (thanks to the team at Kiteboarder.nc)

October - No wind = surf session on reef break

A nice little reef break when the swell is not big...

Whether you like surfing or not you must admit that with a section like this with just a couple to share it we cannot ask for more ;-)

Session at Poé beach... 1st of April... not a joke but almost!

Hai hai hai... This was supposed to be a weekend to remember for wonderful kiting sessions on clear waters...

On day 1 we had rain, on day two rain and 5 knots and on day 3 showers and 10-14 knots...

Out of that we were able to capture few breezes and had a bit of fun... it did not last has the showers came but it was still good to be in the water.

default That's as close as you want your kite to get to the trees Tongue out

default Just the first trick you learn: Backloop

We just went through a "no-wind" 3 weeks period and despite having the cool seazon coming in fast we expect a nice 15-20 knots by the end of the week, let's cross our fingers so that we can finally put back those Stance magazine DVDs back into the draw Foot in mouth

Another perfect session at Poé beach!

It has been a while since I gave some news. In fact we hardly had decent weekends for a months, showers and lack of wind...

It wasn't planned at all but after driving 45 minutes to check a potential spot we soon realised that it was far to be attractive, and but just adding another 45 minutes we could hit Poé beach... and here we were...

We were lucky as we now have tropical cyclone Becky close to Vanuatu that brings clouds, showers and strong gusty winds (60 knots close to the centre).

Anyway, last Saturday we (a good friend Christophe and I) had a good steady 18 knots with crystal clear waters...

Below is one of the pictures showing Christophe simply enjoying the moment.

Poé beach

Poé beach is one of my favorite spot in New Caledonia.

There are few obvious reasons for that, its crystal clear water, white sandy beach, 17 Kms long... ho and yes, there is also the barrier reef that offers some decent wave riding sessions for kitesurfers!

I will add more pictures but in the meantime I will try to give you enough information for you to fully appreciate what this beach has to offer.

Poé is great for all levels, debutant to expert.

There is even a Kiteboarding school (http://www.poekiteschool.com/englishframe-2.htm) and everytime I spend a weekend or a day there I do stop for a nice coffee at their snack bar.

For details wind, clouds, wave conditions do check windguru: http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php?sc=6470

Finally, for further details and official "Kiteboarding" rating for this spot go to: http://www.wannakitesurf.com/spot/Australia_Pacific/New_Caledonia/Poe_Beach/index.html

Happy session and I wish you a wonderful year 2007!

A little bit about my gear...

For all my sessions I only use 1 kite size and 1 or 2 boards:

default

 Kite:

F-One Tribal 2006 11 m²

I use it for winds between 15 to 30 knots... I haven't tried beyond that but I guess that a 9 m² would be more adequate passed 30 knots... héhéhé

Boards:

Crazy-Fly 127/36 PRO Line

(This is the one that I use all the time)

Crazy-Fly 125/39 Limited Edition Pro model

(Brand new model, Iam able to use it from time to time via the local, New Caledonia, Crazy-Fly distributor but it will be in my future order... this is a top model!)
